Urgent question for getting an Uk student visa?

Urgent question for getting an Uk student visa?
I am from South Africa, and I am in the US as an international student. My question is: Is it possible for me to transfer to UK from the USA? What I want to know is can I apply for the Uk visa being in the US without having to go to my country for that. thank you for answering.

You can apply, But its sure to be rejected. They don't know who you are, and no references from your Government supporting the fact that your not a criminal and just a student. The UK is very strict on these things since we`re scared of people. Haha. What I would do is go back to South Africa, and apply from there. It will maximize your chances of getting into the UK. Good luck friend :)

The site below is the official website for everything to do with travelling and working to the United Kingdom. It will tell you if you need a visa and if you do how to apply for one. http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk You have to answer a short questionnaire. 1. The purpose of your visit. 2.Country of nationality. 3.Current location. and all the relevant information will then be given.

South Africa is a Commonwealth country and its citizens do not need a visa to visit the United Kingdom as general visitor for up to six month. If you plan to stay longer or for other reasons you will need a visa. You must apply from your place of citizenship or residency. If you should hold a long term F-1 student visa and hold a residency in the US you may apply from the United States. If you just hold a I-94 for 180 days or less you should better do the application from your home country. Source(s): http://www.ukvisas.gov.uk/en/howtoapply/infs/inf5students#Q4
