I want to study abroad, i'm considering south africa is it expensive?
As an international student, i'm looking for a good College, with an inexpensive tuition fee, maximum may bee $15,000 a year. i know there are several good universities in south africa, like the cape town , and also Johannesburg university. so i would like to know if the tuition fee plus the living expenses are expensive how would you convert a 32000R in dollars, hope you can help. btw i can also speak fluent dutch if that is any help?

I study at Stellenbosch University and my expenses this year was about R40 000 (about $5300). I am living in a student residence and this is the cheapest way to live for students, but you need good grades to get in as there are only a number of places. If you are going to live in a flat, then your living expenses will be higher. R32 000 is equal to about $4300. I'd say, seeing as you are converting from dollars you will be winning all the way, as the exhange rate now is about $1 to R7.47. If people are at university then they will be able to speak English, but seeing as you can speak fluent Dutch, this will help you a lot in learning Afrikaans.
